Modern Jazz

At Redbridge Classical Dance Studios, we follow the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance syllabi for modern jazz. The music is upbeat and the work is lively, energetic and expressive. Many children choose this style of dance if they have an interest in musical theatre and dream of appearing in productions on the West End stage. The classes help to develop a strong sense of performance and the rhythmic content of the syllabi foster excellent musicality. Jazz develops excellent co-ordination and dynamic percussive movement style. The teachers assess all students regularly, and as they progress the pupils are given the opportunity to take an examination. UCAS points can be gained for Grade 6 examinations and upwards to assist with University applications. Please see the TIMETABLE section of our website for classes on offer.
