Pre-School Classes

We offer ballet, modern and tap dancing classes for children who are not yet at full time academic school. Following our Baby Bear classes, at the age of three children move up into Nursery ballet, tap and modern and then as they turn four move up into Kindergarten. In these Pre- School classes children learn to follow instruction and join in independently. Children are introduced to the concepts of posture, placement and rhythmical movement within the confines of the Nursery classes. Creative improvisation and rhythmic sequences, bought to life through imagery, lay the groundwork for proper dance technique. Use of props such as scarves and wands inspire, whilst a clear understanding of dance class etiquette is nurtured. In our Kindergarten ballet class children are taught a breakdown of the classical ballet steps required in the highly respected Royal Academy of Dance Pre Primary syllabus. This class ultimately results in their first ballet examination once they have turned five before moving into Primary and up through our school up to Grade 8.
